The 10th anniversary edition, TEAMZ AI Summit, positions Japan as the inbound engine for international tech companies expanding into Asia.
TOKYO, 22nd October 2026 – TEAMZ and EMURGO, a co-founding entity of the Cardano blockchain, have entered a broader strategic partnership to build TEAMZ Summit into an established global brand focused on superintelligence, the companies announced today. The partnership marks the summit's 10th anniversary edition, TEAMZ Summit AI Edition, taking place on April 6–7, 2027 at Happo-en, a 400-year-old Japanese garden estate in Tokyo.
Over the past decade, TEAMZ Summit has grown from a Web3 gathering into Japan's Premier AI Conference, as the two technologies have converged.
AI makes intelligence abundant, generating content, agents and digital identities at almost no cost. Blockchain proves what is real and who owns it. Together, they are already changing how the economy works. AI agents can now pay each other using stablecoins, decentralized networks provide the computing power AI runs on, and onchain identity helps confirm there is a real person behind the screen.
The summit drew 10,625 attendees across two days in 2026, and its stage has hosted some of Japan's most influential policymakers and regulators, including Minister of Finance Satsuki Katayama, who opened the 2026 summit.
The 2027 summit puts AI infrastructure at its core, with programming across data centers, semiconductors and computing; AI software, including generative AI, AI agents and applications; physical AI, covering robotics, humanoids and automation; and the digital economy, spanning digital assets, payments and transactions.
“Ten years ago we started TEAMZ to connect Japan with the world's builders. AI is the biggest shift we have seen in that time, and Japan is ready for it,” said Tianyu Yang, CEO of TEAMZ. “Our goal is for every international AI company looking East to start its journey at Happo-en.”
The partnership builds on four years of EMURGO as a partner of TEAMZ Summit and marks EMURGO's first major step into artificial intelligence. Together, the two companies aim to cement Japan as the gateway for international technology companies entering Asia.
